Entry cost? Discounts? How long can I stay? Do I have to pay if I’m not ice skating?
Entry with skate rental is $10, if you bring your own skates entry is $7. Discount admission passes are sold which includes 10 entries – with skate rental is $75 and without skate rental is $50. The admission applies to skaters in all ages. Once you pay admission, you will receive a wrist band as your admission for the day. As long as you have your wrist band, you are allowed to stay/re-enter the rink as many times as you want on the day of your admission. When you are leaving the venue temporarily, you should leave the skates with us. Those not skating and accompanying a skater do not need to pay to enter the venue.

A link to directions and parking information to Bellevue Downtown Park can be found here. The address of Bellevue Downtown Park is 10201 NE 4th St. Bellevue, WA 98004. You may take Sound Transit 550 or Metro 234 that reaches Bellevue Transit Center and get off on the closest bus stop for Bellevue Downtown Park. The bus stops near the venue are on Bellevue Way NE & NE 1st / Main St, and 103rd Ave NE & NE 1st St / Main St. The rink is located one block south of Bellevue Square Mall.

 

Do I have to pay if I’m not ice skating?
No, those not skating do not need to pay to enter the venue.

 

What Bank of America banking centers can I pick up my Free Skate Monday passes?

What if I have large group, do we get a discount?
Large groups are welcome to purchase discount admission passes. If you have a group of 30, you would purchase three of the discount passes good for 10 entries. One discount admission pass for 10 entries is $75 (includes skate rentals - $50 for pass of 10 without skate rentals).

 

Do you have a group rate for a group of 7~10 people? / 25 people?
The only group rate we provide is the discount pass for 10 admissions at once, which is $75 including skate rentals and $50 without skate rentals. If you are a group of 25 and doesn’t reach the ten units, you would either have to purchase the discount pass for 30 and use the remaining 5 entries on another day, or purchase the discount pass for 20 and pay for the regular admission for the other 5 visitors.

 

Do you take reservations for groups visiting the rink?
No. Groups visiting the rink during public hours do not need to make reservations. If you would like to purchase the discount pass for your group in advance, you are able to purchase them online on our website here. Otherwise, you may visit and purchase them on-site.

 

What are the public hours of operation?

When are the busiest/ less crowded time/days to visit the rink?
Mondays and Saturdays are the busiest days of the week. To avoid large crowds, we recommend you visit as close to the opening time as possible. The 6pm-9pm time slots are the busiest part of the day.

 

Are there skate guides or walkers for kids? Can I walk alongside on the ice?
Due to safety reasons, the venue does not offer skate guides or walkers, and we do not allow anyone without skates on the ice.

 

Do you have a lost & found? Do you have lockers?
For lost & found, you must visit us during public hours to see if your lost item is on-site. No phone calls, please. We do not have lockers. Visitors usually leave their shoes under the bench we have inside the viewing tent. It is your responsibility to look after your personal belongings.

 

Is the venue outdoor / indoor? Is it cold inside? Will the rink be affected by the weather (rain / snow / wind) anyhow?
The rink is a partially open-air venue inside a tent. A tent covers the rink surface for rain/snow, but we recommend you to dress warm since it is open-air.

 

Can I rent out the venue for a private party? What about a birthday party during public hours?
Yes! Please contact Mike at mike@bellevuedowntown.org or (425) 453-3110 if you are interested in a private party – only available before public hours. The rate is $450 per hour, includes skate rentals for all guests. The rink will be open according to the hours of operation for each day. If you would like to use the rink exclusively before the public hours, please look into the information about private parties on our website here.

 

Do you have concessions on-site? Can we bring our own food /drinks / water?
We have a concession stand that offers everything from hearty offerings like ravioli to snacks and warm favorites like cappuccinos, hot chocolate and cider. No outside food or beverages allowed on the premises (specialty items like birthday cakes are allowed).

 

Are there restrooms inside / near the rink?
There are no restrooms inside the ice rink. The nearest restrooms are outside of the rink located near the playground equipment and SW Parking lot.

Do you sharpen skates at the rink?
Yes, we have a skate sharpener onsite. All rental skates will be periodically sharpened. We will sharpen personal skates for $5 per pair.

 

Do you have/sell gloves or helmets? Where can I buy skates?
No. We do not have gloves at our rink. We do have a few helmets for children, but we encourage you to bring your own if you have them. We don’t sell skates, but skates are available for purchase at local ice arenas in the area such as Castle Ice Arena in Renton (425-572-6291), Highland Ice Arena in Shoreline (206-546-2431), OlympicView Arena in Mountlake Terrace (425-778-0979) and Play it Again Sports in Lynnwood (425-670-1184).

 

How big is the rink?
The rink is approximately 6,900 square feet, 60 feet wide by 115 feet long.

 

Until when will the ice rink be open? Will it be there on February? Where can I skate after it is closed?
The rink will be open until Sunday, January 8, 2012. The Magic Season Ice Arena brought to you by Bank of America is a temporary/seasonal venue that re-opens every year for the holiday season from late November to mid-January. Visit local ice arenas such as Castle Ice Arena in Renton and Kingsgate Ice Arena in Kingsgate (Kirkland).
